Updates and Prayer Requests
Thank you so much for your support. We know there are many who love Waukaway, the history of this beautiful land, and the ministry here. We want to share a few updates with everyone and ask for your prayers as we continue to adjust and adapt in light of the current pandemic crisis.
As we announced on social media earlier this week, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel all Waukaway programmed camps for this year. (This includes Teen Camp, Program Camps 1 & 2, and our Great Kids Camp.) Please pray for those that are impacted by this decision. It is a great loss for many ministries, groups, and churches that join us for these events.
The Board of Directors is meeting weekly to continue to discuss future services Waukaway will or will not be able to offer as the summer continues. Please pray for wisdom, unity, and clarity for the Board as they have some very serious decisions to make.
We have not been able to host guests on grounds since the beginning of this pandemic, and therefore are not able to draw any income during this time. In spite of that fact, we know that God is able to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Eph. 3:20), and know confidently that His will, indeed, will be done here and solutions will present themselves. Please pray for the camp to continue to see God’s provision financially. We also would ask for you to take time to ask God if He is wanting to use you as a part of His plan to provide for Waukaway during this time. If He so leads, please click here to donate.
Finally, we were joined by a small crew of summer staffers that arrived on grounds Monday. They are complying with very strict social distancing procedures and preparing for whatever God does have in store for us for late summer. They are working very hard already - working on major grounds upkeep projects, lifeguard training, deep cleaning and sanitization, etc. Please pray for their successful lifeguard certification, health, and spiritual growth during this time.
Thank you again for your support. We know many, many people want to see Waukaway thrive. We are working hard, and praying hard, to do just that.
